  • 14 Facts about Skincare (How to skin care, best skin care practices, moisturizer & minimalist)

    1. Moisturizer Is the Best Defense Against Dry Skin Are you suffering from dry skin? If so, you should be moisturizing daily. If your skin is in dire need of moisture, apply lotion straight after hopping out of the shower to seal in the moisture that your skin has just absorbed. 2. Wearing Sunscreen Daily Protects Against Aging One of our best skin care tips is to wear sunscreen daily to defend your skin from aging. If you’re worried sunscreen will make your skin break out, choose a formula packed with zinc. These products are usually non-greasy and non-irritating, making them ideal for acne-prone or sensitive skin. 3. Exfoliating Leaves Skin Smooth If your skin is feeling rough, try exfoliating. When you exfoliate your skin, you work to even out the surface of the skin by welcoming new cells underneath. Exfoliate regularly — say once a week or so — to combat the dead, complexion-dulling skin cells that give your skin a tired look. 4. Dancing Makes Your Skin Glow Did you know that exercise treats your skin to a healthy glow by boosting blood flow? When you sweat, toxins and dead skin cells are removed from the body, promoting new ones to grow. Now’s your chance to practice your new dance routine. Yes, even dancing can lead to healthier, brighter skin. 5. Wearing Sunglasses Protects Against Crow’s Feet Keep those shades at hand! When you squint in the sun, crow’s feet wrinkles are more likely to develop. So, always wear sunglasses with UV protection on a sunny day. Those with light-colored eyes are more prone to risk, but brown-eyed beauties should pop on the sunglasses too. 6. A Lack of Sleep Can Affect Your Skin We all know this one, but it’s important to reiterate it. A lack of sleep can cause stress to your skin, leading to unwanted breakouts and a dull complexion. Don’t deprive your body and skin of that much-needed sleep; let your body use the time to regenerate and recover from your day. 7. Eyes Show the First Signs of Aging The skin around your eyes is the most delicate and thinnest, so it makes sense that this area shows the first signs of aging. Even if you’re in your 20s, it’s best to start preventative care early to ensure your eyes are looking beautiful and healthy for years to come. 8. Touching Your Skin Leads to Breakouts Here’s another one we should all already know. We know it’s tempting to demolish that pimple, but resistance is crucial. The more you pop and pick at breakouts on the skin, the more dirt, filth, and bacteria is pushed deep into the skin. Bacteria underneath the skin leads to more unwanted breakouts. 9. Caffeine Leads to Dry Skin Are you suffering from dry skin? Do you also love coffee? Unfortunately, caffeine may be the culprit. If you can, replace the java with hot water and add tasty fruit slices like lemon or orange to improve the flavor. 10. Sleeping in Certain Positions Can Leave Lines Some sleeping positions can lead to sleep lines. In time, these lines can turn into deep-set wrinkles. Avoid this by snoozing in the sheets backside-first. 11. Eating Fish Is Great for Your Skin Skin loves foods like salmon, herring, and trout. These types of fish offer our skin oils that lubricate cells and lessens inflammation. They’re also packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, which help keep our skin super-smooth. Plus, they taste delicious too. 12. Alcohol Dehydrates the Skin As sad as it is to admit, one less serving of alcohol per day makes a significant difference in the appearance of your skin. This difference is be cause alcohol dehydrates the skin, which causes wrinkles. It also inflames tissue. 13. Massage Helps Reduce Under-Eye Circles Unfortunately, there isn’t a guaranteed way to combat dark under-eye circles. One method that can help is lightly massaging the under-eye skin in circular motions to increase blood circulation. Do this when applying your daily eye cream to lessen fluid retention. 14. Over Moisturizing Can Lead to Breakouts The last of our beautiful skin secrets is to avoid over-moisturizing. While we mentioned earlier the importance of moisturizing, it’s essential not to take it too far. Over moisturizing can lead the skin to break out. Too much moisture can result in milia, the tiny white spots that appear when dead skin becomes trapped underneath. So, think twice before you slather on a thick layer of your favorite moisturizer. That’s why it is important to use an all-natural and clean moisturizer that lasts all day.

  • Skinimalism, best moisturizer technique for you skin.

On December 24, 2021 I posted a short blog on "Why is natural beauty so much more attractive". At that time the buzz word Skinimalism was unknown. Now, it is the trend. What does Skinimalism mean? Simply it means going back to nature. Not suffocating your skin with unnecessary coverings and "cakes" in such a way that your skin cannot breath. The idea is not to use excessive products and not to hide or alter your natural skin. As dermatologist Dr. Joshua Aeichner states, "It is a positive movement focusing on skin health and embracing the skin you're in. With a less-is-more approach, you can give your skin what it needs without worrying about hiding any flows." HERE ARE SOME SKIN ROUTINE STEPS YOU CAN DROP Toner Toners are not essential. Unless you have used a toner and find out that it does make a big difference, you can drop the toner. A Heavy Overnight Mask Heavy overnight masks are generally oily and comedogenic. If you are acne prone, it will make your complexion worst. Don't use it if you don't need it. Foundation Even though not a skin care item, it will fall under the no-makeup look which can fall under the Skinimalism topic. Try to keep your pores clear by not using foundation. HERE ARE SOME SKINIMALISM ROUTINES Cleanser Cleansers are important in a skin care routine. They are essential for removing dirt, grime, and pollutants that have built up on the skin's surface during the day. Exfoliator Exfoliators help clear the skin from dead skin cells and enhance new cell generation. Nurish's Exfoliating & Brightening Gel exfoliates without using harsh abrasives or chemicals. Moisturizer An all natural daily moisturizer that is designed to penetrate all 7 layers of the skin, can keep your skin hydrated all day and prevent dryness. Nurish Moisturizing Cream is 100% Natural and Organic and it is designed to hydrate your skin all day and night. Sunscreen An essential part of your routine should be to shield your skin from the sun's damaging effects on the skin. Use a cream with a correct SPF for your life style and area you live in.

  • Shampoo Bar & Moisturizer? (Hair Care for your itchy dry scalp By Nurish)

True to my own belief, whenever I face a problem, I try to find a solution and if it solves the problem, help others with the same issue. Just like the story of how I ended up creating Nürish Moisturizing Cream, for years I had a problem with dry itchy scalp. I tried all sorts of shampoos, medicated ones, expensive ones, inexpensive ones... Finally, I decided to create a shampoo that would help alleviate the problem. it took some time to develop a formula up to our standards that was also 100% natural and vegan. I also choose to make it into a bar rather than the customary plastic bottle to make it is easier to use, longer lasting and environmentally friendly. Our bars send zero waste to landfills. I have added Nürish Shampoo Bar+ to the Nürish family of skin care products and it is available only online. Happy Shampooing, David

  • How Biodynamics Helped Me Create Nürish

As my video shows, the original intention of my creating NÜRISH was to produce a moisturizing cream that was 100% natural and vegan. In essence, something that would be as good as what you put in your body and more effective for your skin than most moisturizing creams in the market. As you can imagine this is not an easy task. Water soluble products like Aloe juice or gel do not mix well with oils. In the conventional cosmetics manufacturing industry, they force the two to mix and stay in a mixture form (emulsion) by adding harsh chemicals or binders (I will discuss the details of this in a different posting) and force the two opposite to co-exist together against their will. I never liked "forcing" things to do what I like them to do or for that matter create something by force which do not have the "innate" tendency to coexist. I intentionally use the word innate because it implies a natural way of being. However, Nature and Humanity can be trained, taught and enlightened to coexist or live together in ways that is much more elevated than it's or our innateness. This is how, more or less, humanity has evolved. We were barbarians at one time, fighting and killing for our daily leaving and now we live in communities, working together and trading for our livelihood, studying and helping each other. This is where Biodynamics comes into play. Biodynamics is the study of nature and how things in nature interact with each other. It took me more than 5 years to learn through Biodynamics, how nature works. How and why things "like" or "don't like" each other. Just like humanity, you can bring two enemies to the table and present to them (enlighten them to) the benefits and wisdom of peace and coexistence, and all of a sudden, just like a miracle, you have created two friends that are inseparable. This is also how it is in Nature and what it took me to create Nürish. Bringing my Aloe juice and all the other lovely oils to the table and finding out what it takes for them to coexist without bringing in the "military". Each natural ingredient had a different need and a different tolerance. Different combination and manner of ways were negotiated. You can imagine the difficulty with having over 13 different ingredients (participants)! Finally, after 5 years and some failures, the "Community" was created. A community that is all loving, all giving and something that once you are part of, you too will feel it! I know as a blog, this is a long one. I promise my future blogs will be much shorter. it's difficult to put 5 years of roundtable meetings, negotiations and peace talks in several sentences, especially when the participants are the likes of Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Shea Butter, Almond and Aspen Tree Bark... #natural, #moisturizer, #skincare, #dryskin

  • Our New Product, True To Our Belief.

Having created our new product, Nurish Aloe Vera Exfoliating & Brightening Gel based on our belief that anything you put on your skin should be as pure and natural as what you put in your stomach, I started marketing the product to some of the stores that are selling Nurish. I was faced with an interesting scenario. In one case, upon testing Nurish Exfoliating Gel on her skin and wiping it off after 10 minutes, the store specialist did not see the usual dark matter that supposedly looks like dead skin cells peeling off her skin. Therefore, she assumed that my product was not working. I asked her which exfoliating product she thinks is best and does what it is supposed to do (when dried on the skin, it peels off dead skin cells). The specialist gave me her favorite exfoliating cream. I applied the recommended amount on top of a glass shelf in the store. After the manufacturer's recommended allowable time, I rubbed off the dried product from top of the glass and it peeled off just as though dead skin was peeling off from your skin. It was just the dried product peeling off. I explained to her that Nurish Exfoliating Gel is non abrasive and works enzymatically by dissolving the dead skin cells, allowing new skin to regenerate. You see the difference in minutes. Let me know if you have any experiences with other exfoliating creams. Thanks #exfoliating, #nurish

  • Why is natural beauty so much more attractive?

Throughout ages, for what ever reason, humanity has been searching for something better and bigger, something more advance and for something that spiritually elevates us to a higher level. We have gradually moved away from an introspective point of view to a transcendent way of being. Although this is appropriate and necessary for humanity, somewhere in this journey we have lost the connection between transcendence and the Holy within us. The “I”! The natural and pure being that we are. Consequently, we started to create images of what beauty is and invented tools and devices such as paints and coverups (cosmetics) to hide ourselves and hopefully achieve that so called beauty template. Forgetting that nothing is more beautiful than the way you are, as you are, natural and pristine.

  • Biodynamics

As the Creator of Nurish, I wanted to share my experience and knowledge of Biodynamics with my friends and the people I love. If you check Nurish’s website, www.shopnurish.com/about, you will read that I created Nurish using Biodynamics. According to the Biodynamic Association, https://www.biodynamics.com/what-is-biodynamics “Biodynamics is a holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming, gardening, food, and nutrition.” I believe that biodynamics goes beyond that. It is the symbiotic relationship between all non-living and living matter, including plants and humans. This is why I wanted to start this blog, to introduce the study of Biodynamics and how we can tap into it to improve our lives both physically and in a naturally holistic way. I hope that this forum will become a platform for people to tap into and not only benefit from its insights, but also share their experiences so that other people can benefit. #vegan, #moisturizer, #natural, #Biodynamics
